The
Gallery was founded in 1978 by Francis Kyle. Located in the
heart of Mayfair, between Regent Street and Bond Street, Francis
Kyle Gallery represents some 40 contemporary artists from Britain,
France, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the United States.
On the principal three floors of its building the Gallery presents
some 10 individual exhibitions annually, with a signature theme
exhibition, usually commissioned from around twenty or so artists,
every eighteen months. On its upper floors in Maddox Street
are viewing rooms for works in stock and new works by artists in
the Gallery’s stable, for the most part works in oil or acrylic
on canvas, mixed media, watercolour, pastel and drawings with occasionally
sculpture and ceramic pieces. From time to time the gallery
publishes etchings and lithographs and its program includes on a
regular basis exhibitions devoted to well-established artists working
in etching from France, Germany and the United States.
